Apple is said to be working on the next iteration of its Watch. With the new Watch, it reportedly plans to bring two new features, or at least these are the two rumoured for now. You can except cellular SIM support and a faster processor, reports a Wall Street Journalreport, citing sources familiar with the matter.
Both rumoured features make sense considering people would expect a next-gen device with a more powerful processor and the eSIM reports floating around could vouch for cellular SIM support. Moreover, in-built cellular connectivity, without being connected to an iPhone, could make for a great standalone product. The updated smartwatch is expected to be unveiled at WWDC 2016 instead of at the September event. Until then, we can expect a string of rumours about the device.
Earlier this month, Drexel Hamilton’s Apple analyst, Brian White, had added a research note to his upcoming expectations about the Apple Watch and iPhone towards the end of 2016. The analyst concluded that Apple will announce a new Watch model not in September, along with the iPhone 7, but instead a bit earlier, in June.
patent leaked in January also revealed a new design with a magnetic wristband and showing two main configurations. According to the abstract submission, “In one configuration the wristband is magnetically coupled around a user’s wrist. In another configuration the magnetic wristband can be magnetically coupled around an electronic device to which it is attached.
