Civilian killings occur due to presence of armed forces: Jamaat

“One can feel the intensity of the highhandedness of the forces by the fact that the people working in their farmlands and walking on roads and streets got hit by the bullets of guns used with criminal carelessness by the force personnel,” the Jamaat spokesman said.

Civilian killings occur due to presence of armed forces: Jamaat
Jama’at-e-Islami Thursday said that civilian killings occur due to presence of armed forces in the Valley and demanded an impartial probe.
“Besides the non-resolution of the Kashmir issue as per the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir being the main cause of uncertainty, the presence of army camps and bunkers in populated areas is also one of the reasons for occurrence of Handwara type massacres,” the Jamaat spokesman advocate Zahid Ali said in a statement.
He added that in some areas in the Kashmir valley and the areas near the LOC in the Jammu province, the presence and interference of the army in public affairs has turned the life of the concerned people into a hell. “The presence of a bunker in the middle of the Handwara town equipped will all modern vigilance technology is one of the reasons leading to the occurrence of the tragic incident in which four innocent persons were killed by the indiscriminate firing of the force personnel,” he said.
“One can feel the intensity of the highhandedness of the forces by the fact that the people working in their farmlands and walking on roads and streets got hit by the bullets of guns used with criminal carelessness by the force personnel,” the Jamaat spokesman said.
He said that an old aged woman Raja Begum got killed in her vegetable farm while collecting vegetables for her home. “Scores of innocent people walking in the fields and markets got injured without any provocation at all,” he added.
Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir (JeI) demands immediate removal of all the camps and bunkers of the forces existing in the populated areas and stern and deterrent action against those personnel who are involved in the indiscriminate firing  upon the common people.
