Gears of War, that third-person shooter franchise
featuring men in beefy armour and an aversion to helmets of any kind,
has had a sequel in the works for quite some time now. We’ve seen glimpses
of the game at E3 2015 and now, finally, an actual trailer is out.
Feast your eyes on the trailer ye mortals, for it is glorious.
The trailer seems to feature Marcus Phoenix’s son. For those not in the know, Marcus Phoenix was the protagonist of the earlier games and it looks like his son will be taking up that mantle going forward.
Gears of War has been what can very rightly be called a console-selling franchise for Microsoft. As evidenced by Gears of War Ultimate Edition for Windows 10, the franchise is still holding strong even after 10 years. Technical issues notwithstanding of course.
Considering Microsoft’s recent push towards gaming on Windows 10, rumours abound of a PC port coming to the platform. As PC gamers ourselves, we’re certainly excited at the prospect.
