Hurriyat Conference (G) today warned if anything untoward happens to its chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani due to continued house detention the responsibility thereof would lie on the government.
“Geelani Sahib despite being unwell continues to remain under the house detention and the authorities have increased the vigil and deployment of the forces outside his Hyderpora residence here,” the Hurriyat spokesman Ayaz Akbar said in a statement.
“After his return from Delhi on April 6, the authorities immediately cordoned off his office cum residence and placed a white painted police truck without number at the its central gate so that to deceive people and other watch dogs across the globe which is highly condemnable.”
“The main reason of the ill health of Geelani Sahab is his continuous house detention which is taking heavy toll on his health,” the spokesman said.
