Protests in Lolab after recovery of bullet-riddled body of militant

A bullet-riddled body of a militant was recovered by locals in Lolab area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
The body was found in a pool of blood, just metres away from last night’s encounter site.
The militant believed to be hiding in the area had died because of blood loss.
There was a brief exchange of fire between forces and militants on Thursday evening near Jamia Masjid Kanthapora after forces cordoned off the area.
Forces had to suspend the operation due to darkness and massive stone pelting by locals on them.
The slain militant is believed to be part of LeT group, which was intercepted in Potushai area.

Following the recovery of the body, locals took to streets and staged massive protests.
