A rumour that surfaced on Chinese social networking site Weibo has revealed that Sony is working on a new device tagged as the Xperia M Ultra. The device is a phablet, packs in a 6-inch display and also sports some super narrow bezels. The M Ultra is supposed to be Sony’s take at the ultimate selfie smartphone.
According to the source, handset will feature a 6-inch Whitemagic Triluminous Full HD display with extremely thin bezels. Inside, one can expect a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 chipset paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal memory.
Coming to the cameras, we have a 23MP primary camera that packs in a wide angle f/2.2 lens, while the front facing camera features a 16MP unit. Powering it all is a 4280mAh battery and you get a fingerprint reader to complete the package. The handset will also feature a USB Type C port.

Also expected to be announced soon is the successor to the Sony Xperia C5 Ultra tagged as the Xperia C6 Ultra. For now, none of the above details have been confirmed. So do take all of the above new with a pinch of salt. The Sony Xperia M Ultra and the Xperia C6 are expected to compete with Oppo’s recently announced F1 Plus selfie smartphone.
