JKLF Chief Yasin Malik arrested ahead of funeral-in-absentia for Amanullah Khan
Malik was arrested ahead of the funeral prayers for Amanullah Khan on Wednesday.
Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chief Yasin Malik was arrested on Wednesday to prevent him from taking part in funeral prayers for the party ideologue Amanullah Khan.
“Ahead of Gayibana Nimaz-e-Jinaza for JKLF supreme leader Jenab Aman Ullah Khan ,Chairman JKLF Muhammad Yasin Malik has been arrested by police and curfew has been clamped in Lal Chowk, Maisuma, Kokerbazar, Kothibagh, Abi Guzar, Court road and other adjacent areas,” said a spokesman. 
He said all roads leading to Lal Chowk where they had proposed to hold funeral prayers in absentia for the deceased leader have been sealed by razor wire to prevent people from holding the prayers.
Earlier, Malik condemned the curfew and restrictions, terming them as “high-handedness” of police and the authorities.

Amanullah Khan had passed away in Rawalpindi area of Pakistan on Tuesday after a protracted illness.
